Yes! A new show! Just what you've been waiting for, I'm sure. Anyway it's a fun kinda show, a bit long in the making, but what can I say? There's just no good music around. No, wait, yes there is...it's in here! In this show, which you can download! Right now! In fact, it's already downloading into your iTunes! What do you mean you don't use iTunes? What do you use, Windows Media Player? That's shit! Look, it's called podcasting cause you do it on your iPod. It's the market leader because it's the best. And iTunes is great, too, because it's downloading my show, right now. What do you mean, you don't have iTunes? And so on and so forth.

Hello hello, back with another, EXTRA-SPECIALLY LONG episode of the only half-decent music podcast out there, the show I couldn't find so I had to make it myself. Yep it's the eighth destruct\hour, so we're doing it less than once a month but more than once every two months, which isn't bad considering. No special guests this edition, although an angry Scotsman does show up for a bit of a rant which is always fun.

Yes, it's been a long timetime, and I really should not have left you, without a dope beat to step to. But that's alright! Because we're back with another hour of good tunes, hosted (badly) by me, this time with special guest hosts Grande Cobra and special guest producer Franzor. Had loads of fun last night putting it together, and now I'm super-excited that you all get to hear it- I hope you like it!

Hey peeps,

There's been this '20 questions' musical meme going around a bit, I think I got tagged for it a couple of times, and I decided to podcast it rather than just write it down- that way you get to listen to some music after I've told you what songs are behind the questions. It's not actually a destruct\hour (and is not supposed to be), but I'm sending it out under the destruct\hour banner just to see if this iTunes thing is working. There'll be another actual destruct\hour along sometime soon, I'm sure. I tag, uhm, Rockit.

The questions answered in the podcast, if you haven't seen the meme yet, are:

1. A track from your early childhood
2. A track that you associate with your first love
3. A track that reminds you of a holiday trip
4. A track that you like but wouldn’t want to be associated with in public
5. A track that accompanied you when you were lovesick
6. A track that you have probably listened to most often
7. A track that is your favourite instrumental
8. A track that represents one of your favourite bands
9. A track which represents yourself best
10. A track that reminds you of a special occasion
11. A track that you can relax to
12. A track that stands for a really good time in your life
13. A track that is currently your favourite
14. A track that you’d dedicate to your best friend
15. A track that you think nobody but you likes
16. A track that you like especially for its lyrics
17. A track that you like that’s neither English nor German
18. A track that lets you release tension best
19. A track that you want to be played on your funeral
20. A track that you’d nominate for the ‘best of all times’ category

As for the answers, well, you have to listen to the podcast for that!

You've got good taste in music. Your iPod is looking very respectable. You've whittled away the bad tracks, and come up with a playlist that comprehensively covers all your complex and diverse musical tastes. Whenever you want to hear your favourite song, whatever your mood, you can jump straight to it. You've done well.

But sometimes you get the feeling that you're missing something. That you've heard every song in your collection a few dozen times each and you want to hear something fresh, something suprising, something unique.

May I humbly suggest The Destruct\hour, my online hour of audio awesome? This week's ep is particularly good- we even managed to snag a special guest DJ for extra fun. Get in there!

Hi there! It's me...Dan!

When I'm not slaving away on my award-winning* novel, I like to kick back with my good friend Rob and record my award-winning* podcast, which I like to call...the destruct\hour! It's a sort of online mix-tape, except sometimes I talk/giggle between the songs and occasionally play non-musical things of audio-interest. And I make it just for you. I hope I don't sound immodest* when I say that it's the best podcast in existence, ever, better than any other podcast out there. Sounds good, huh?

For the so many options, click below! Maybe you're reading the site via dial-up and can't really be bothered waiting a million years for the show to download. In that case, contact me and I'll ah, send you a limited* edition CD with ALL FIVE SHOWS on it as mp3s! That's money in the bank, baby!

Right, well, I'm off to Croatia for a bit, so the site will be quiet for a while. It is my intention to look at no castles, no sites of historical interest, no beautiful Croatian women. I am simply going to lie on the beach and do nothing but read and sleep and swim and leap off cliffs and nap. I will return with lots of book reviews and no exciting stories about castles, sites of historical interest and beautiful Croatian women.

However! in the meantime since you can have no text-dan, here is some more audio-dan in the shape of the 4th destruct\hour, your favourite hour of online frolics.

The wait is over!

You may now stop inundating me with requests for the next edition of the destruct\hour. It's here! And I do believe it is the best one yet. It now sounds a lot more polished, thanks to a series of awesome sweepers (airchecks/show IDs) made by multi-award-winning radio impresario Grant Brodie. Take a listen- it really gives the show a much more coherent flavour than the previous two shows (but don't worry, I still say uhm and aah more than any other words, and I still giggle a bit). It rocks.

In my continuing attempt multi up the media of znaddanz.com, may I present the first edition of The Destruct\hour, sixty minutes of music and madness for your listening pleasure.

I imagine I'm not the only person who sits at his desk listening to xfm's radiostream rotating their top ten all day, so this will be a brief respite from that. I can't promise you'll like every song, but I can promise that you'll like at least one, that you'll smile at least once, and you'll hear at least one song you've never heard before. Think of it as a mixtape made for you by a friend. Me, in this case.

Stick it on your iPod, listen to it at work, listen to it at home if you're one of those people whose computer is also their music-station. If you're one of those sad souls who has dial-up or pays for bandwidth or uses a rock for a pretend computer or something, comment to let me know and I shall mail you a copy of the show on CD. You can't say fairer than that.

Many thanks to Rob at The Cheese Factory for helping me out with the show. He rules.
